What a sensation at Caulfield on Saturday! Gods Own gelding Vatican proved his ability to strike over favourite Zamorar in the TROA National Jockeys Trust Hcp. With a perfect pace set, Vatican was able to settle 3rd with cover, stalking the front runners until the turn where he exploded with a strong run down the straight. Ridden perfectly by jockey Billy Egan, Vatican scored the win by a long neck. Vatican now heads to the paddock for a fortnight to get set for the Listed Dermody Stakes in Adelaide in July where no doubt he with prove his weight in gold gold again.
